On a cliff 1000 feet above the sea, the luxury Hotel Caesar Augustus offers one of the most spectacular vistas to be found on the isle of Capri. From the rooms and grounds of this marvelous luxury hotel, guests can enjoy views over the entire Bay of Naples. On this particular cliff-top have been found traces of buildings dating back to the 9th century, and there is no doubt that it was regarded as a special plot even before then – given the love of Capri shown by the rulers of the Roman Empire. Until the end of the 19th century this mansion used to belong to a very rich German landlord. During the first years of the 20th century Villa Bitter was turned into a noble house by a Russian prince and, after the end of the second world war, it was converted into a hotel by the Signorini family.

Located in its own version of paradise, overlooking a scented forest and azure waters of the Bay of Naples, guests can experience a center of natural relaxation fit for any Emperor. And this unique place is just five-minute walk from Anacapri’s town center, where shops sell local pottery, made-to-measure sandals, and Capri’s limoncello liqueur, using the island’s lemons.

The hotel is as inviting indoors as it is outdoors, with open air features including private outdoor spa treatment rooms, as well as al fresco fitness. The Infinity swimming pool has been cleverly designed so as to create the illusion of merging into the sea. The sun decks, where guests can soak in the Mediterranean sunshine are surrounded by the beautiful gardens.

A trip to Italy wouldn’t be complete without sampling the local delicacies. Chefs Eduardo Vuolo's cuisine is as Mediterranean as it could possibly get. Chef Vuolo enjoys use of Hotel Caesar Augustus's on-site organic garden, employing a "Zero Mile" philosophy by using locally grown vegetables, fruits, herbs and spices.  Here, in the most romantic of settings, guests are invited to have most unforgettable culinary experience possible.

If your train arrives at Mergellina Railway Station, we suggest that you reach Mergellina Harbour, which is located near Piazza Sannazaro.
From this harbour, regular SNAV jetfoils and catamarans leave for Capri.
From Mergellina Railway Station you may reach the harbour in about 10 minutes' walk. For this reason, we suggest that you take a taxi only if you have several pieces of luggage with you.
